She was full of love, laughter and happiness and will live in our hearts forever. Audrey Grissom left an everlasting impression on all that crossed her path. As the oldest pirate in the krewe she quickly became known as “Mom or Mamacita” and she had “the time of her life” dressing up and being a pirate! It is impossible to capture her beautiful life and the impact she had on so many.

At 80 plus years she joined the well-known “Krewe of SeaSaveYours” and participated in Gasparilla parades in Tampa and surrounding cities, events for fundraising for nonprofit causes, cruises, and a multitude of krewe related activities. She then moved to Tampa to live with her daughter Kathy Grissom. She made many great friends and traveled with her family to San Carlos, Mexico many times. After the death of her husband, she moved to Ruidoso joining her daughter Linda Clark and husband Wesley Clark. She was blessed with many different joys in her life.

After retirement she loved traveling with friends and family. Audrey was a member of the Eastern Star, Mt Franklin Rainbow for Girls, and served as mother advisor. In her spare time, she took up painting which she did up to just a few days before her passing. She loved to cook, was an excellent seamstress making all her daughters and neighbors wedding dresses. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk in the El Paso Public School System. After she and Harold married and had 3 children, the family together joined St. After her husband completed his military tour during WWII, they moved to El Paso TX in 1945. Audrey married the love of her life James Harold Grissom on June 7,1942 in Texas City TX. She was a cheerleader at Mart High School where she met James Harold Grissom. As a child, her grandmother Hudson took her every Sunday to the Baptist Church in Mart, TX. Audrey was born on 8-7-1925 in Mart, TX to her parents Glenn V. Audrey lived a long and very happy life filled with a lot of love, fun, laughter, friendships, and life adventures that she treasured. Audrey Lee Eskew Grissom peacefully went to sleep surrounded by her loving family and a dear friend.
